Little Cinema Micha King "Wow" (小さな映画館 みちゃ王 「おう」) is a coin-operated kinetoscope from Banpresto that played short anime clips in Japanese arcades and stores.[1]

History[]

After the Playdia platform was discontinued in 1996, unsold consoles were repurposed by Banpresto, a subsidiary of Bandai that produced toys and games for the Japanese convenience store market.[2] The front panel of the Micha King arcade cabinet offered a choice of 4 video clips to choose from. Playback was enabled with the payment of a 100円 coin. Inside the cabinet, a customized LED communicated with the existing Infrared Rays receiver on the Playdia console.[1]
